| This is a complex and very highly detailed kit. When properly built, it is a museum quality display. High quality Ambroid kit from the 'Golden Age' of HO Craftsman kits. Ambroid kits were limited release models that are widely considered to be the standard of quality for this style kit. Features all Northeastern Scale Models hardwood lumber. All major parts are fully cut, milled, shaped and ready to assembly. Wood and metal stock is included as needed for details and those need to be cut to length. Includes dual metal-mesh roof walks, a bag of detail parts that is still factory sealed, metal ladders, full color decals with Great Northern decorations and complete lettering, paint guide (Jade Green is the correct color for this model) and full size instructions/plans. | Still factory sealed. In the late 1940s/early 1950s there was a revolution in model railroading: high quality kits became available for the first time. Before this, there were few standard gauges and most railroads were scratch built to any gauge the collector desired. This kit is the Menzies reissue of the classic Athearn kit. These kits build very realistic models because parts that are metal on the real box car are metal in the kit; same for the wooden parts. All sides, doors and roof are fully decorated, leaving very little painting. Includes wooden floor, opening doors, metal underside and detail fittings such as AB brake set, brake wheel, etc. These make great stand alone models or high-quality rolling stock for your line. | |||

| Rare. From the late 1950s. Large 1/96 scale kit is molded in the correct gloss silver and clear. Large model with full landing gear and and two colorful BOAC decal sheets. One includes full size vertical stabilizer markings and the other is a very large and extensive sheet with all striping, logos, side windows, flags, registration for six different aircraft and more. The decals are flat and excellent with the original factory wax paper in place. The instructions are excellent also. The four props are still on the factory cardboard holder and have no broken blades. The kit has never been started. NOTE: there is no display stand. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts including decals and instructions. NOTE: one small landing gear door is still present on the sprue but is short shot. | |||

| Very high quality wood and metal kit from the Golden Age of HO Craftsman kit. Builds a very accurate and highly detailed prototype. Of the early metal box car kits, these are my favorites, with their popularity witnessed by the various reissues through the years. Almost all the parts that are metal on the actual box car are metal on the model. This and the factory paint, lettering and decoration makes these kits difficult to beat for scale appearance. Features stamped steel body, car ends and roof that are that are factory painted, lettered and decorated, steel ladders, doors, door guides and brake platform, cast metal running boards, bolsters, coupler pockets and three piece brake detail, stamped metal undercarriage beam with fine cross bearers, corner steps, grab irons and more. Includes trucks. The factory paint is mint, and the factory protective plastic is still in place on the body, roof and car ends. Due to the high degree of factory finishing, the only painting required for this kit is the interior floor and underside. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including instructions. NOTE: this kit is in a period Athearn box, but the box originally contained a different kit.
