Revell HMS Campbeltown, 1/240, 2502

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Sold

Advent issue. Large scale and highly detailed kit of the historic four-pipe destroyer. On March 8, 1942, the Campbeltown sailed up the Loire River. Her mission was to destroy the Normandie Drydock, a possible haven for the Tirpitz which was holed up on Norway at this time. The Campbeltown was disguised as a German warship and the bow was packed with 8500 lbs of high explosive depth charges. Under a RAF diversion, Campbeltown fought her way up the river and rammed the dock doors at full speed. Charges at the stern sank the back of the ship and she was wedged in the dock. During a German inspection 8 hours later, the charges went off, scattering parts of the ship up to one mile away. The dock was rendered useless to the Tirpitz, who now had to stay in Norway. Never started. NOTE: missing rudder. Inventoried with all other parts, decals, flag sheet and instructions.

It can be built as a large scale non-visible or visible model with full interior. Features one clear fuselage 1/2 and one clear engine cowl, complete passenger compartment and cockpit, mens/womens bathrooms, passengers, pilots and hostess, retracting landing gear, movable wing flaps, moving control surfaces, jet engine, boarding ramp and display stand. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Includes Air France decals. Please NOTE: the box looks much better than the grade, but is graded as 'poor' because it has been cut on the back along one long and one short side, as well as having other general wear and shorter closed tears. The later hardbox issue included United Air Lines, since United once bought the Caravelle for North American routes.

Tamiya US Army Heavy Field Piece M2 155mm Long Tom Gun, 1/21, DT103-450

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Very rare early Tamiya kit and an amazing operating model, even by modern standards. Larger-scale model is very well detailed and features a complex gun elevating system that works by turning the proper hand wheel which then functions through a series of metal pinion gears, functional elevation pistons, working transversing gear through turning the correct hand wheel (through metal pinion gears also), opening breech, movable trailing arms for travel or firing position, removable wheel towing set with realistic suspension that you build up one leaf sprint at a time and much more. This model does everything but launch a projectile; there is a inner metal barrel and some other (rubber banded moving) parts I do not understand, so it may well fire something. The model is molded in dark olive drab, light gray, with rubber tires and with a large number of metal parts. The kit has never been started. Inside it is exactly as it left the factory, with all parts factory sealed in clear bags with Tamiya 155mm M2 Gun paper headers. The box is intact and complete and has four solid corners but has general wear and light staining as shown.

Billing Boats St. Roch RCM Arctic Patrol Boat - Plank on Frame Wood Ship, 1/72, 605

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

Sold

Still factory sealed. Includes full fittings set. This is a beautiful scale model of the famous RCMP vessel built in 1928. 1:72 scale kit measures 16.93"H x 18.5"L x 4.3"W and 12.8"H . From the Billing website - "All of the 600 Series Model Boat Kits (item numbers 600-609) include an easier way of building the hull. The hull is assembled in halves, on a table. This allows for easier assembly and is quite useful in learning plank-on-frame or plank-on-bulkhead construction! Once each half is done you join the two for a completed hull. Make sure you work each half in opposite directions so that when joined they marry up evenly!" In 1940, the St. Roch set out from Vancouver on a secret mission through the Northwest passage. On this voyage, the St. Roch combined its normal supply mission with a deliberate assertion of Canadian sovereignty over the Arctic. Due to heavy ice conditions, the ship spent two winters frozen in Arctic waters, finally reaching Halifax on October 11, 1942. The voyage claimed the life of one crew member. The St. Roch was the first ship to complete the voyage through the Northwest Passage from Pacific to Atlantic. In the summer of 1944, it became the first ship to traverse the Arctic in both directions when it crossed the Northwest Passage again, this time from Halifax to Vancouver. The St. Roch was built in 1928 by the Burrard Dry Dock Company in North Vancouver.
