Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. 1912 Packard Model 30 Touring Car VG Injection Molded old | ||
| 1967 Pyro issue from original molds. In the early to mid 1960s the Pyro company chose many of it's kit subjects based more on historical significance than popularity. Luckily for us, Pyro not only made these kits but did an excellent job for the time. This Pyro car model is based on the Model 30 that was on display in the Auto Aviation Museum in Cleveland, Ohio that Pyro engineers and designers had access to. The model includes rubber tires, brass plated parts, colored injection molded parts and clear parts. Features detailed chassis, complete motor and interior and a removable hood or 'bonnet'. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. | |||

| Ex Pyro molds. Modeled from the two Tuna Clippers (Gulf Star and Sea Magic) of the Avondale Marine Ways Company of New Orleans. These hard-working boats and crews roamed the ocean year-around in a dangerous business. Many vanished without a trace. The Gulf Star was wreaked on a reef off Peru. Curtiss P-40 Warhawk - 16 inch Wingspan Rubber Powered Balsa Wood Kit Exc+ Wood old | ||
| One of a very popular 16.5 inch wingspan series of World War 2 kits. Roughly 1970s scale stick and tissue rubber powered flying model. Includes die cut balsa parts, vacuform nose, wheels, plastic propeller, hardware, vacuform canopy, colored tissue, insignia and full size plans with detailed building instructions. The model has not been started. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufactures, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009. | |||

Laird Solution Racer with Racing Pylon Stand VG++ Injection Molded old | ||
| Hardbox issue from 1962 with great Bill Campbell box artwork. Very nicely molded kit with excellent fit and fine recessed panel lines are raised rib lines. Includes Pylon Racing Stand that is ideal for a 1930 Racing Diorama. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. The Laird Solution won the first official Thompson Trophy Race in 1930 at the Curtiss-Wright Reynolds Airport in Chicago. The Laird was the only Biplane to win the Thompson and it beat all the military aircraft. Charles 'Speed' Holman was the pilot and was the first civilian to attain a speed over 200 mph in a closed course event nationally. E. M. Laird Airplane Company built the aircraft for BF Goodrich. Construction began only 3 weeks before the race. There was only one 10 minute trial flight before the aircraft won the race. | |||

| 1941 issue. The 'Ace Whitman' name was used by Joe Ott for some of his marketed kits. Joe Ott had a very popular line of wooden flying and non-flying kits in the Golden Age of flying models. The other 5 aircraft in this series are illustrated on the back of the box. This model comes with full size plans, very detailed assembly instructions (unusual for these types of kits), tissue, wood stock, printwood, block, pre-carved wheels and thrust bearing, rubber band, metal prop axle, colorful cut out insignia for markings, pilot, cockpit and engine and templates for motor cowl, front and side canopies, air intakes, tail wheel fairing and gear doors. Never started. NOTE: missing prop. Otherwise inventoried with all other parts, instructions and insignia. | |||
