Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

Revell Los Angeles Dodgers Lockheed Electra II, 1/115

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$250

SALE! Very rare. Special issue of the Dodgers Team Aircraft made by Revell just for the concessions dealer 'Danny Goodman' for the LA Dodgers, Inc. I purchased this kit along with the Revell factory shipping carton. This carton was originally sold to Union 76 Service Station #3459, located at 12080 Ventura Blvd in Studio City California. The case was shipped directly from Revell in Los Angeles to the Union Oil Station; the gas station owner's son confirmed this. (Somehow Danny Goodman was bypassed in the transaction!). The kit is fresh from the original shipping carton with no more wear than you would expect. The box is in investment grade 'near mint' condition with the only flaws being some yellowing and light wear on the paper label. Inside, the kit is factory new. All parts, decals and instructions are still sealed in the Revell factory bag. The kit includes a wonderful photo of the 1963 Dodgers - World's Champions!

Revell USS Forrest Sherman DD931 Destroyer, 1/320, H463

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM

$64

Dated 1972 and measures over 15 inches long when assembled. This is a large-scale, well detailed model for that time and still one of the best for a ship of this class. Features full hull with propellers and rudder detail, complete deck fittings, elevating and rotating main turrets, torpedo tubes, torpedo and lifeboat davits, detailed depth charge racks, display stand, decals, flag sheet and more. Never started and the parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals, color flag sheet and instructions.

Revell Attack Transport USS Montrose PA212 - ( USS Randall Attack Transport PA224), 1/376, H452

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$135

1971 issue that is from the same molds as the famous USS Randall 1950s 'S' kit. This is a highly detailed and excellent kit for that time that features full, one-piece hull, detailed deck & superstructure, life rafts, deck guns, all masts and booms, a complete complement of 22 barges and landing craft and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The USS Montrose was on of 57 Haskell Class Attack Transports built for service in and immediately after WWII. The ships were designed to carry troops close to the beachheads, transfer them to landing barges (carried on board) and to supervise the landing operations. Her length was 455 feet and she could handle 1,560 troops and carry 3000 tons of equipment.

Revell 1893 Duryea Highway Pioneers - US Antique Series, 1/32, H61-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

$44

1954 'US Antique' series issue molded in black plastic. This kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. This is from the issues produced with Gowland & Gowland as it carrier their 'balloon' logo only on the box top. Not long after this, the Gowland logo would disappear completely, leaving only the Revell logo. It is also worth noting that this is one of the first non-generic Highway Pioneers boxes. Earlier boxes were all the same, with the kit number and car stamped on the side, usually with a red or black rubber stamp. This box is completely dedicated to the Duryea kit, and even has advertisements for the early Revell 1954 ship and aircraft kits on the long sides. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Revell PT Boat PT-212 - Sea Power Issue, 1/98, H421-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

Revell American Firefighters Hose Reel - With Horses and Firemen, 1/48, F202-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$65

First Revell issue dated 1953. Features two highly detailed horses, hitch, carriage with frame detail, flexible hose, rope and metal chain, along with two firefighters and a Dalmatian dog. Molded in the correct white, red and gold plastic. It has never been started and has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. The American Firefighters series has a very interesting history. Marlin first cut the molds in 1952 and issued the six original American Firefighters (Chemical and Ladder, Steamer, Hook and Ladder, Water Tower, Aerial Ladder and Hose Reel) in 1952. Revell signed a marketing agreement with Marlin in 1953. Five of the kit were released with the Revell name and marketing name 'Collectors Kits, Closter N.J.' Revell added the horse parts as they were not originally part of the Marlin issues. The kits made excellent display pieces, but they never caught the imagination of young men like jet aircraft did. The five molds were shipped to Brazil. After run for Kikoler (Revell Brazil's Distributor), they were shipped back to the USA but the molds were lost at sea. This issue is from when Revell still had the marketing agreement, as it says 'Trade Mark Copyright 1953 Marlin Toy Co. Inc' on the box top and 'Collector's Kits, Inc, Closter, N.J.' on the side.

$110

The Long Beach was built in Decatur, Alabama in 1943 and was one of a fleet of tugs operated by the Wilmington Transportation Company. She had a registered length of 81.1 feet and a beam of 24 feet.
