| Hard to find kit from 1966 in excellent condition. The box has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners, no price tags and no tape or tape/tag marks. There is light general wear as shown. The kit is very nicely molded in dark green and includes the Green Beret with his knapsack, canteen, first aid kit, machete, hand grenade and rifle as well as a display base with rocks, a fence, tree stumps, palms, various plants and name plate. | The Rotodyne first flew in 1957. The purpose was to create the first true vertical take-off airliner that could operate from an area no larger than two tennis courts with a full load. The Rotodyne flew at up to 191 MPH with a range of 450 miles and a payload of 48 passengers or 5 tons of freight. Despite the excellent performance and a larger design in the works, the RAF never placed an order and BEA never placed a firm order. The project was discontinued in 1962. Never started. | Nicely detailed kit. Never started. All parts are still in the factory sealed bag with decals and instructions. The Amiot 143 design was first flown in 1934 and was ordered into series production with the first deliveries in August of 1935. A very capable aircraft for it's day, it was obsolete but still in service with 5 bombing groups when WWII broke out. Brave air crews attacked not only night targets in Germany proper but made daylight raids on bridges at the Sedan during the Blitz. | |||
