The box is in exceptional 'Excellent++' condition with like-new color and gloss, four solid corners and no price tag or tape marks or residue. Kit features detailed cockpit and two pilots, rotating main and tail rotors, detailed engine and optional position clam-shell nose doors, winch and 'downed' pilot and clear Revell 'Globe' stand. Features pre-formed billowing sails, preformed ratlines, anchor chain and cord for running and standing rigging, 20 crew members, detailed armament, operating propeller hoist and detailed deck fittings. Also includes complete step by step assembly instructions and full rigging instructions/diagrams. Inside, the kit has not been started and is as it left the factory. HMS Campbeltown (USS Buchanan) Destroyer Sealed Mint Injection Molded old | ||
| Still factory sealed. 1971 issue. Large scale and highly detailed kit of the historic four-pipe destroyer. Originally the USS Buchanan Four-Piper, she was traded in the famous Lend-Lease program for the use of British bases. On March 8, 1942, the Campbeltown sailed up the Loire River. Her mission was to destroy the Normandie Drydock, a possible haven for the Tirpitz which was holed up on Norway at this time. The Campbeltown was disguised as a German warship and the bow was packed with 8500 lbs of high explosive depth charges. Under a RAF diversion, Campbeltown fought her way up the river and rammed the dock doors at full speed. Charges at the stern sank the back of the ship and she was wedged in the dock. During a German inspection 8 hours later, the charges went off, scattering parts of the ship up to one mile away. The dock was rendered useless to the Tirpitz, who now had to stay in Norway. | |||

Sears Buggy - Highway Pioneers Good++ Injection Molded old | ||
| 1953 early issue molded in green plastic. This is from the issues produced by Gowland & Gowland as it carrier their 'balloon' logo on the side. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Before the 1950s 'model building' as a hobby did not even make the top 10 list of boy’s activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland ‘Highway Pioneers’ car kits was a significant mover in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. They could be built in an hour after dinner and looked like the real car. The 'Highway Pioneers' series helped lead to the production of other subjects in plastic. The effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, 'model building' was the # 1 past time of American boys. | |||

| NOTE: builder kit only; please read below. 1960 hardbox issue, possible the first issue. As with most all Revell early ship kits, the model is finely molded and very well detailed. Model is about 15 inches long when assembled. Features full detail on the top two decks, prefabricated rat lines, vac sails, full rigging material and instructions and display stand. Includes a like-new tube of Revell S Cement. The model has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, flags and instructions. NOTE: the follow parts are cleanly broken. All parts are present, but will need to be repaired: #12 breastworks, #39 rail, #111 deadeye(2 arms), #109 deadeye and #90 mast base. Also, the right lower hull has a closed crack that is 1.5 inches long. | |||
