| Rare large 1/50 scale 1960s Heller kit with wonderful artwork. Contains 92 parts molded in gray, clear and with real rubber black tires. This kit has many working features - moving the arresting hook down for landing approach raises the lower radome. Raising the arresting hook lowers the radome. The landing gear retracts and extends via a novel system of rubber bands that hold it locked up or down. The wings fold, tire and propeller rotate and the kit includes a detailed cockpit and crew of three. The kit has never been started. | 1950s type two box with great artwork. This is an excellent kit with good detail. It features separately molded control surfaces, cockpit detail, optional position cabin door, retracting undercarriage, rotating props, boarding stairs, stewardess, family (mother, father and son) and business man as well as two seated pilots. Kit also includes a wonderful tri-fold flier from Jersey Airlines titled 'Channel Islands Holidays'. which contains a full description of this airline's trip to the Channel Islands. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, both decal sheets and instructions. The Heron was the result of a larger and redesigned Dove and first flew in 1950. It's ability to operate from rough fields and ease of maintenance quickly make it a favorite for feeder and independent airlines in the UK and overseas. Heron IIs were also selected by the RAF for the Queens Flight, which is a statement to it's reliability and safety. | |||
