Still factory sealed. 1973 issue of the classic and nicely detailed 1960s "Four Star" model. Features movable control surfaces, very good cockpit, sliding canopy, instructions for rigging and a novel action feature: when you pull the prop outward and rotate it counter clock-wise, the landing gear retracts. Rotate it clock-wise and the gear extends. Push the prop in, and it freewheels as normal.

Features quality die-cut balsa sheet parts, stripwood and spars, die-cut plywood firewall for gas operation, light plastic cowl, pilot bust, machine guns, engine and more, scale plastic wheels, rubber motor, thrust button, plastic propeller, big sheet of full color decals, covering tissue and excellent full size plans with instructions. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

From ex-Entex molds and well detailed. The world's first locomotive was the 1804 Trevithick. On February 13 of that year, Richard Trevithick's high pressure steam locomotive pulled five wagons carrying 10 tons of iron and 70 men on the Penydaren Tramroad from Methyr to Abercynon, Wales. The nine miles was covered in four hours and five minutes but much time was lost cutting down several trees and removing some large rocks. At times they reached the unheard of speed of five miles per hour! The performance won a 500 Pound wager for the train's owner, Mr. Samuel Homfrey and proved for once and for all that smooth steel wheels could obtain traction on a smooth iron rail. Until this day, conventional wisdom insisted that only geared wheels running on geared track would be able to pull any load up the slightest grade. The model is from the 1986 but the molds pre-date that. Older but very nice kit that is well detailed and molded. Includes display stand. The kit has never been started. The plastic parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags; the metal parts are also factory sealed. Includes instructions.

Still factory sealed but the seal has many splits. Large wingspan flying model can be powered by rubber, electric or made R/C with the modern tiny and lightweight servos and receivers. Features traditional wood/tissue construction, detailed full size plans and building instructions, quality die-cut printwood, spars, stripwood, fully formed and finished wheels, wire stock, thrust button, metal prop shaft, plastic prop, tissue, rubber motor and decals. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

The Seguin is the oldest steam powered tugboat in the USA. This model was designed with measurement taken from the actual vessel. This is a plank-on-frame kit with Midwest 'Micro-Cut' basswood and mahogany parts, cleanly die-cut frames, deck and cabin parts, scribed basswood for decking and cabin sides, many brass parts, complete fittings set, rigging material, vac life boat, prop, smokestack, masts, full size plans, instruction book and more. Does not come with the steam drive. Minimum of two channel rc required. This kit has not been started. Inside, it is as it left the factory. Most of the parts were factory sealed and they are still in the factory sealed bags. The few larger parts that were not sealed have been inventoried complete. With all paperwork. Fresh from old hobby shop stock. 1960 'S' issue in amazing, investment-grade 'Near Mint+' condition. Somehow this box even escaped the factory sealing tape machine, as it has no sealing tape and no typical stains from the tape. Very light wear is the only flaw to this fantastic box artwork. Revell took the nice original F-104 molds and added four then-new AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, ground missile trailer and ground crew. Molded in the correct correct gloss silver and with the clear Revell Swivel Stand. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Decals and instructions are both in 'near mint' condition.

Model is about 15 inches long when assembled. Features full detail on the top two decks, prefabricated rat lines, vac sails, full rigging material and instructions and display stand. Molded in gloss black, dark swirl wood brown and light wood tan. The kit has never been started. All parts and paperwork are still sealed in the factory internal clear bag. I can see in the bag that the tube of factory-wrapped "S" Cement is included.
