Still factory sealed. Around 1949 the USAF assigned a high priority to all weather fighter design and deployment. Most manufacturers built traditional two seat machines, such as the F-94. North American, however took a new approach and created one of the first true "One-Man Interceptors". Keeping the wings and landing gear from the proven F-86 Day Fighter, they made a longer and deeper fuselage with a large radome and J47 engine. Guns were replaced with 24 2.75" folding fin rockets. Although more than a ton heavier than the F-86, the Dog was the fastest aircraft of it's day and set several world records. 2,504 were built and formed the backbone of America's air defense system in the 1950s. Markings for 498th FIS and 97th FIS "Dennis the Menace". Very highly detailed. Features all recessed panel lines, detailed cockpit, detailed wheel wells, optional position leading edge slats and wing flaps, drop tanks, optional position speed brakes, canopy and rocket tray and a well detailed tow tractor.

Very interesting issue dated 1989. The box is triangular when viewed from the side. This is a snap together kit with no glue required. Printing is in English and French, leading me to believe that it may have been marketed in Canada and the USA. Molded in dark green, black and clear to eliminate or minimize painting. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The Lap Snap kits do not turn up that often. The entire line consisted of this Huey, #1061 Tiger Shark P-40, #1062 Messerschmidt Bf-109, and #1064 Police Chopper (Bell Jet Ranger)

Jon Sharp's famous racing aircraft that won Reno in 1991. The winning streak went on for 44 races including 9 Reno championships. This aircraft holds all Formula One race and qualifications records as well as FAI 3km Class C-1 at 290 mph. After winning Reno in 1999, she was retired to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Nemesis was the design that pulled Formula One racing out of the 'wood and tubing' technology as it was built of composite materials, using foam cores and graphite skins.
