1957 hardbox issue of this small scale kit with dramatic Jo Kotula box artwork. Please note that this is an earlier issue with 'Famous Fighters' in the oval border of the Aurora logo and is has the '.29' on the lower right. Nicely molded with a clear canopy, full landing gear and display stand. This is a model of the very early YF-102 prototype with the straight (non-area rule) fuselage. The kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. Around this time, Aurora issued a series of inexpensive (usually 29 cent) small scale kits that were designed to sell at almost any type of retail location. The line was successful and further expanded - when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, they fit in nicely with this established line.

Well detailed with scale plastic wheels, plastic propeller, vacuform nose/cowl and engine, full color decals, covering tissue, die cut balsa parts, rubber motor, plywood firewall and excellent full size plans. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Guillow's founder, Paul K. Guillow, was a WWI naval aviator. In 1926 he began producing wooden model airplane kits. His 'Shelf Models' were some of the earlier non-flying models in production. Guillow's grew during the model boom of the 1930s, and when the Depression hit the hardest, Guillow's responded with lower prices and became one of the low price leaders, frequently advertising in Model Airplane News and other leading publications. During the war, like most manufacturers, Guillow's was forced to alternative materials such as cardboard and pine. Guillow's survived the post WWII slump by creating many inexpensive profile flying rubber powered aircraft and gliders in the 1950s (along with North Pacific) which became famous - some are still available today. The stick and tissue lines have been updated with laser cut parts and are still in production as of 2009.

Rare kit from the mid to late 1950s. Comet made two plastic P-47 models and this is the larger of the two. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Comet was an early wooden flying and scale model kit manufacturer that branched out into plastic kits in the 1950s with a large line of small and mid-scale civil and military kits. The plastic line was sold to Aurora around 1960. Aurora had no P-47 in it's lineup, so when it purchased the Comet molds, Aurora reissued this this 1/48 P-47 and the smaller one.

Rare kit from the 1940s and in very good condition inside and out. Solid wood, large-scale display model has a 10 inch wingspan when assembled. Features profile (2D) cut fuselage, twin booms & wings, printwood, fully finished hardwood main and nose wheels, sandpaper, a sealed envelope of CASCO powdered glue, cut-out insignia on the instructions and detailed full-size plans with templates, instructions and a painting guide. Never started and 100% complete with all parts and paperwork. Eagle Model Aircraft was located in Brooklyn, NY. In the late 1930s and 1940s they produced a very extensive line of large solid wood scale kits as well as stick-and-tissue flying models.

Very rare. This is a factory sealed 1950s Cellovision issue. The clear window on the back is intact and the trading card is in 'Near Mint+' condition. Amazingly, the box is in 'very good++' condition. These Cellovision boxes were very thin and prone to damage; this one lived a charmed life. This is a large scale (1/48) 'theoretical' Mig-19. It was removed from production well before it's time because it soon became obvious that this aircraft never existed in this configuration. However, Aurora made one almost just like it; so it is believed that they both used the same faulty magazine drawing as the basis for both models. Includes a very well detailed tow tractor with driver. The aircraft is molded in silver and the tractor in yellow.
