![]() Dart and Little John Missiles Good- Injection Molded old | |||
| In the late 1950s KMT released several large scale missile kits, all of which are rare today. This one is the Little John in 1/20 scale and the Dart in 1/12 scale. The Dart measures 6 inches long when built. Other large scale missiles that are listed as released by KMT are the Talos, Nike Hercules, Nike Ajax, Honest John and large 22" Corporal. Never started. Factory sealed small parts bag and all non-sealed parts inventoried complete with decals and instructions. Instructions and decals are in excellent condition. | |||

![]() Convair XF2Y (Yf2Y-1) Navy Sea Dart Supersonic Float Plane - NO Rivet Detail VG+ Injection Molded old | |||
| From the 1950s. Rare first issue with no rivet detail on the plastic parts. Later issues all had this detail added. Box has great color. Nicely done kit for the time. Molded in dark blue plastic. Has very colorful decals in like-new contiion for this unusual and beautiful aircraft. Never started. Inventoried with all parts, decals, Strombecker club application and instructions present. Strombecker was very well known for producing the finest pre-carved hardwood aircraft and missile kits, but they had a very short journey into the plastic model field. After making the Sea Dart kit in 1956, they added four more for a total of 5 injection molded aircraft kits. All were discontinued in the mid 1960s. The Sea Dart was a supersonic design that could take off and land from water using retractable hydro-skis. Five prototypes were built and over 300 test flights made. The advent of the super carrier spelled the end of the Sea Dart, although 4 still exist on display today. | |||

| Some molds have a colorful history; this one is no exception. At one point, Monogram leased or sold a set of Corsair molds (from the original 4 Star action kit) to Idea in Korea. Idea copied the molds, modifying them with a tab on each tree with the Idea name. Hobby Craft also issued this kit in it's own box after Idea molded them. This kit even includes dark navy blue and black parts just like the original Monogram Four Star release. 'Working Action Model' with many features; wings fold, landing gear and tail wheel retract and all gear doors close, working arresting gear and rotating wheels and prop. Under-wing stores feature missiles, bombs and drop tanks. Includes decals for Marine version. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. | |||

| Limited issue from 2000 of 3,500 kits. Nice kit of the Cougar with the Eliminator package, which featured Ford's Boss 302 CID engine with a standard 290 horsepower. Other 'race' additions for the package were front and rear spoilers, hood scoop, blacked out grill and Eliminator graphics. Nicely detailed kit with over 100 parts. Features detailed motor and engine compartment, opening hood, complete interior, molded-in underside detail, and separately molded front and rear suspension, rear differential, drive shaft and duel exhaust. Molded in gray, clear, red tint clear, chrome and with rubber tires. The parts are still factory sealed. Includes decals and instructions. | |||

| Still factory sealed. 1970s issue. Over 1000 Trackers were completed for the Navy as carrier-based submarine hunters. Grumman was awarded the contract in 1950, and in 1952 the first XS2F-1 flew. The large belly radome contained the PAS-38 search radar and the AWQ-10 MAD detector was in the tail. ALD-3 ECM performed DF (direction finding) duties, and the 70 million candle power spotlight lit up targets at night. Sonobuoys were held in both engine nacelles and offensive weapons included acoustic torpedoes, depth charges, rockets and conventional bombs. Trackers saw service in several other Navies including Canada. | ||||
