Bell P-39 Aircobra 'S' Kit NM+ Injection Molded old | ||
| 1955-56 'S' issue. This is the second issue of this kit which has Japanese kill markings on the nose of the aircraft in the artwork. Richard Kishady did the famous painting for this kit and originally included German kill markings on the nose of the P-39. Very shortly after this, Revell began to export kits to Europe. Shortly after World War II, many European countries banned the swastika. Revell changed the box art to Japanese kill markings, making the kit legal to sell in those countries. Never started. 100% inventoried complete with all parts/decals and instructions present. | |||

Contents are still factory sealed, but the stand shown on the instructions is not present. I have never seen the stand in this issue, so it may be a mistake on the instructions. | |||

| Very high quality wood and metal kit from the Golden Age of HO Craftsman kit. Builds a very accurate and highly detailed prototype of this Wooden Reefer. Kit features pre-cut and pre-scribed hardwood sides that are factory painted green and decorated with white, red and yellow lettering for Railway Express, cut and pre-milled hardwood 'round' roof and floor, hardwood pre-cut and scribed car ends, cast metal underframe, wood and metal stock as required, metal ladders, reefer doors, ice hatches, end sills and brake wheel, metal grab irons, brake details and more. The paintwork is not bad but not excellent - I would grade it 'very good'. The paint can be removed with DOT3 brake fluid if you wish. Good builder kit only - not a good collector kit. Inventoried complete with all parts and instructions. NOTE: one small rear bumper bracket has broken off and is missing. Easily replace from plastic stock. | |||
