Billing Boats Bluenose II Racing Schooner - Plank on Frame Wood Ship, 1/100, 600

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$119

"Still factory sealed. Scale model of this world-famous and beautiful schooner originally from 1929. 1:100 scale kit measures 16.93""H x 20.47""L x 3.35""W. From the Billing website - ""All of the 600 Series Model Boat Kits (item numbers 600-609) include an easier way of building the hull. The hull is assembled in halves, on a table. This allows for easier assembly and is quite useful in learning plank-on-frame or plank-on-bulkhead construction! Once each half is done you join the two for a completed hull. Make sure you work each half in opposite directions so that when joined they marry up evenly!"" The schooner Bluenose has a very special place in the history of navigation and yachting. Built to fish off the Newfoundland coast, the ship soon turned out to be such a fast sailer that she won all the great classical regattas along the USA's Eastern coast. She was built in Nova Scotia in 1929, and shipwrecked near Haiti in 1946. A true copy - Bluenose II - was launched in 1964"

Continental Model Airplane Co P7 Submarine - S Class?, C-1

Older kit that measures 6" long when assembled. Consists of a rectangular block of balsa, printwood, wood stock, flag sheet and plans. I cannot identify P7 by name - from the looks and date, she is an S Class - but that is just a guess. Never started and complete.

Wesco S-51 S-class Submarine 1922 - Fourth-Group S Class (S-48), 1/240

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$42

Very rare. Thi sis a solid wood kit of this early USN submarine that was unfortunately rammed and sunk by the City Of Rome. The kit consists of a 3D machine cut to profile wood hull (requires sanding to round shape), printwood, wood stock, cardstock detail parts and even a corked, glass vial of paint and a metal tube of glue - both in the original small paper bag. Even sandpaper is included. The plans are complete but have long closed splits - they are in two parts. The plans include very nice text directions, very good top and side elevations, several detail drawings and hull cross sections for shaping. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes insignia (on the plans) and instructions.

Comet USS Perch SS-176 Porpoise Class Submarine, 1/300, J4

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$44

Rare. The plans call this the Perch but have a 'P5' designator on the conning tower. From the layout I believe it to be SS176 - but there was a time when "P" codes were used on American submarines. This model measures 12 inches long when complete and features a factory 3D carved hull that needs sanded to the round shape, two sheets of quality printwood, wood stock, sandpaper and even full decals. The plans are excellent and show hull sections, many detail drawings and have instructions and paint guide. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions/plans.

This model measures 12 inches long when complete and features a factory 3D carved hull that needs sanded to the round shape, three sheets of quality printwood, wood stock, sandpaper and even a big glass bottle of Comet 'gray' dope that is still good! The plans are excellent and show hull sections, many detail drawings and have instructions and paint guide. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts.

Ace Whitman USS Seadragon SS194 Submarine (Sargo Class) - Balsa Ship Model Kit, 1/169, 2994

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$79

Rare, large scale 22 inch long hollow display model likely from the 1940s. It builds up with hull bulkheads and stringers and is intended to be tissue or silk covered, although it would be much wiser to either cover it with thin balsa or plank it like a plank-on-frame ship model. The photos (on the back of the box and on the plans) of the built model are impressive and realistic; no doubt, you can make an incredible, almost one-of-kind kit from it. However, there is a great deal of scratch building expected, which is typical of kits from that time. It is certainly not recommended for beginners. The builder should be highly experienced with stick and tissue methods and scratchbuilding fittings and more.

All other fittings are all still in factory sealed bags or have been inventoried complete. The other parts have been inventoried complete with plans and instructions.

The plans are very highly detailed and well drawn and include top, side, back and front elevations, detailed construction sub-assembly drawings, hull templates, paint guide and text instructions also. Marine Model Co Canadian Corvette - 20 Inches Long, 1/96, 1098

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

$89

Excellent, large scale kit. Features fully carved and machined hardwood hull that is about 90% finished, a very large number of metal fittings, pre-cut and machined wood as well as wood stock, instructions and excellent full sized planes. The kit has never been started and is 99% complete. Includes hull, all wooden parts and may be missing some fittings. I say 'may' because there is a factory note inside that says "Due to a shortage of strategic material, we have been force to discontinue our complete fittings set." They do, however, provide a complete fittings list so you know what you need. I have inventoried the fittings against the list and very few are gone. You will need to provide the following: grate, two tiny eyebolts, 1 davit, one prop, 2 lifeboats and one ladder. The rest are present.
