| Large kit with very highly detailed interior and extensive decals. This kit has never been started. All parts are still in the factory sealed internal bag. Includes decals and instructions. The Type XXI U-Boats were the world's first true submarines; they could travel at high speeds for great distances underwater and attack without visual contact with the targets. The 'snort' allowed them to recharge the batteries and renew the air, eliminating the last needs for surfacing. A development of the Walther Peroxide Boats, the XXIs were seen as a faster way to put a more advanced submarine into service. | |||

USS Yorktown CV-5 Aircraft Carrier VG- Injection Molded new | ||
| 1987 reissue of the original 1967 kit. Very nicely done kit. Features 20 SBDs, 20" long hull, movable cranes and optional position elevators. The box art shows the wartime finish, but the kit contains decals for this or the prewar high-vis finish. The kit has never been started. Inside it is still factory bag sealed and includes decals and instructions. The Yorktown was one of three prewar sister carriers along with Enterprise (CV-6) and Hornet (CV-8). The Yorktown saw extensive action in the Coral Sea and underwent temporary repairs in record time so she could take part in the Battle of Midway. Damaged by bombs and eventually a spread of submarine-fired 'Long Lance' torpedoes, she was lost after an epic struggle to save the ship. | |||
