| I purchased this model from the collector who bought it brand new in the late 1950s/early 1960s. He opened the kit but left the plastic intact, thus keeping the box in mint, factory new condition This is one of Renewal's famous Aeroskin kits, and a rare large one in 1/48. Features markings for the aircraft of "High Hat Squadron", VF-1B commander Seligman aboard the USS Saratoga in the early 1930s. The model has an injection molded inner structure of ribs and stringers like a real aircraft, then the modeler covers it with provided authentic pre-colored Aeroskin fabric. There is no painting needed as elaborate finishes are printed directly on the Aeroskin covering. This results a very realistic and colorful model. Never started. | The first issue of one of this classic model kit. Big 1/5 scale. The Visible Woman (and Visible Man) kits were part of the extensive Renwal science series. The original release is from 1959 and is extensively detailed. The kit features a large clear body (shown actual size on the box - 15 inches tall) with a complete skeleton. You can assemble, remove and replace all of the organs. This kit also includes a small box containing 'The Miracle of Creation'. Inside are optional parts to represent a 7 month pregnant female. Additional instructions are included for this. The figure can be assembled with or without the 'Creation' module. The model is molded in clear, pink and bone ivory and also includes a display base and the two sets of instructions. The kit has not been started. All parts are still in the factory internal display and factory sealed bags. NOTE: this kit does not contain the anatomy booklet. | |||
