Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$899

1959 first and only issue of this classic and rare kit. This is the finest box condition that I have had in 20 years of collecting. Color and gloss are factory new. All four corners are solid with no repairs and there are no price tag, tag marks, fading or litho tears. There is general light corner wear as the main flaw. The only tape marks are from the factory sealing tape. The box tray is 'very good+.' The model contains 18 aircraft (102 parts total), all to a constant 1/240 scale. All aircraft have an in-flight configuration that is accurate down to the wing angle on the B-52. The display is made complete with all aircraft riding on 'Flight Wires' from the special blue stand. Even the factory tube of Monogram glue ('Monoglue') is included and has never been opened! The factory mounting card for the glue is present also. The large decal sheet is in wonderful 'near mint' condition, and the instructions and Air Power book are both 'excellent.' The kit has never been started. Inventoried complete with all parts, base, factory sealed flight wires, decals, instructions and 24 page 'Air Power' booklet. This kit must be shipped with postal insurance.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good++

Monogram B-24 Liberator Speedee-Bilt, 1/60, H4-495

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$750

Dated 1954. This is the finest H4 Liberator that I have seen. The box has like-new color and gloss, four solid corners and only light general wear. The inside is like new also. Classic early multi-media kit with a fantastic internal box presentation. Before injection molded plastic kits were common, Monogram issued the famous 'Speede-Bilt' and 'Super Kits' which featured injection molded details and precarved wooden parts. Of these, the Speede-Bilt B-24 and B-17 were the finest. These kits are rare today due to their relatively high price of $4.95. This example is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, glue, dope, decals, sand paper, plans and instruction book. The kit has never been started. Still has all internal packing as shown. Amazingly, the celluloid plastic parts range from no warping to very slight warping. This is very rare, as that type of plastic was unstable and warp easily over time. Instructions, decals and plans are 'near mint' also, as are the parts sheet. No parts have been punched out. This kit must be shipped insured.

Please see the article (on this website) about using and restoring old decals before using these or any older decals. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.
