1953 early issue molded in green plastic. This is from the issues produced by Gowland & Gowland as it carrier their 'balloon' logo on the side. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Before the 1950s 'model building' never made the top 10 list of boy's activities. Hobbies were nothing new to America in the 1930s/40s, but they were not mainstream. Shortly after the turn of the century, many dedicated modelers built flying or static airplanes, ship, train, automotive or other subjects. Basic kits existed, but the majority of these models were built from scratch, which demanded a high talent level developed from years of experience. That changed in the early 1950s. The phenomenon of the Revell/Gowland & Gowland 'Highway Pioneers' car kits was a significant force in proving that model building as a hobby could have mass appeal, provided that the kits were easy enough to build and finish. These 1/32 scale vehicles could be built in an hour after dinner and looked much like the real car. The Highway Pioneers series lead to the production of other subjects in plastic and the effect was revolutionary. By the early 1960s, model building was the #1 past time of American boys.

Still factory sealed. Includes color decals and instructions. This kit was initially a puzzle to me. First, the kit is not listed in any of my guides. On first inspection, it appears to be the rare Revell first mold F-94 from the one piece box with no landing gear and one-piece wings. However, it could not be - it has the rivet detail of the 2nd Revell issue- but not the split upper & lower wings and added landing gear. It has come to light that Lincoln, from Hong Kong copied the 2nd edition Revell F-94 and left off the 'details' and changed the base to the typical Lincoln base. Plastic kit production was a sideline for Lincoln, and when production ended, the molds moved to Kader, also in Hong Kong. Kader reissued the entire Lincoln line in the mid 1970s. When Kader discontinued production in the late 1970s, ATP Inc in the USA bought the remaining kits and perhaps some molds. Eventually IM obtained many Kader molds - perhaps from ATP - and this issue was made.

Very rare. Resin conversion kit that makes the Revell Lionfish into an accurate model of Medal of Honor winner Commander Samuel D. Dealey's legendary Harder. Still factory sealed but the seal has splits on a lower side. Very well molded but older model kit features Betty Bomber and Ohka with ground stand/parent aircraft mounting dolly. Includes markings for 4 aircraft; three are Ohka launchers. The fourth is one of two unique Betty's that flew to meet the Allies for surrender in 1945. These aircraft are white with large green crosses.

From about 1959. Rare and seldom seen true third issue, numbered 102-69. Aurora blotted out the rectangular Northern Lights logo with yellow and applied the 'new'(for 1957) 'Famous Fighters' sunburst oval logo and no '69' price circle and no Parents' Magazine seal. Aurora retained the colorful Jim Cox box art from the original 1956 issue. (Mr. Cox was Aurora's first box artist; please read his biograpny on this website) This model is part of a very successful WWI aircraft line in 1/48 scale that Aurora introduced in '56. The line sold so well that kits were added to it into the 1960s. Molded in the glossy olive drab green and black. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

From the mid to late 1930s. New old stock from a closed down hobby shop. Because they are in 'new' condition, the end flaps and tabs are in great condition with no tears or rips. I was the first one to open them and did so very carefully to avoid all damage. Features 18 inch wingspan, quality pre-cut balsa wood stock, fully carved hardwood wheels, metal stock for tail skid and landing gear, partially carved prop blank (needs sanding), rubber band (very old and no longer usable), color insignia sheet, tissue paper and detailed, full size plans that include instructions. Rare model kit from the early 1960s and nicely molded for that time. It is designed to be motorized with the Faller No. 1001 Miniature Electric Motor (not included, Faller sold it separately.) Features parts to built either version, cockpit with crew of two and rear machine gun, wing cannon, main centerline bomb load, small wing-mounted bombs and a large decal sheet for multiple aircraft. Molded in a stunning swirl green and butterscotch brown, gray, orange-yellow, red and with clear canopy & display stand. The kit has never been started. The small parts (with motorizing-specific parts) are still in the factory sealed bag. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete, including decals and instructions.
