Maircraft 1/48 Curtiss Goshawk, S-18
1/48 S-18 Maircraft Curtiss Goshawk
Mint Wood old
Before Frog injection molded the first acetate plastic kits in the late 1930s, wood was the primary modeling medium. Wooden kit manufactures could produce a very simplistic kit which was nothing more than a few block of wood, plans and instructions that amounted to "Make wood look like aircraft". Other manufactures such as Strombecker created almost completely carved kits that needed minimal finishing. The problem here was that the cost skyrocketed, leaving them out of reach of many buyers. Maircraft and some others found the middle ground in the 1930s with roughly precarved kit. The wings and fuselage would be cut to shape, but final shaping and finishing was needed. A small bag of detail parts was included with the plans. This kit is in exceptional condition as new. It has not been started and is complete with all parts, plans and sealed parts bag.
