The parts are either still in the factory sealed bag or have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Horsas were perhaps the most advanced gliders built during WWII. They had full instrumentation, power operated flaps and brakes, a powered device for jettisoning the landing gear upon touchdown. The Horsa MkI carrier troops while the MkII carried vehicles which loaded through the swing nose and unloaded from an explosively-released rear fuselage after landing. Gliders carried in 20% of the reinforcements and supplies for D-Day, and most were Horsas. They also saw action against the German Heavy Water (Atomic Bomb) plants in Norway and targets in Sicily, Arnhem and the Rhine. $36.00 |
