Revell 1/508 USS Long Beach CG(N)-9 Guided Missile Cruiser, H368-169 plastic model kit

1/508 H368-169 Revell USS Long Beach CG(N)-9 Guided Missile Cruiser

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Very rare. Late 1950s/very early 1960s. The box is not dated, but the instructions are dated 1959 so this is likely the first issue. The box grades 'Excellent+' and has wonderful color and gloss. The only flaws are light wear as shown and very light and isolated age foxing (above the "H" in Beach). Well detailed kit contains Regulus II Cruise Missile, nuclear reactor, helicopter, Terrier Missiles, Talos Missiles and more. Never started. The parts and all paperwork are still in the internal factory sealed bag. CGN-9 U.S.S. LONGBEACH was the world's first nuclear-powered warship. She was launched in July of 1959 as the lead ship of the first new cruiser class since WWII. Originally designed as an all-missile cruiser, she was later fitted with two 5"/36 caliber guns amidships. After serving more than 33 years, she was decommissioned on 1 May 1995.
