G-16 Megow Seabird 19th Century Merchant Brig - 17.75 inch long Wooden Ship Model

Wood and Metal Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good

From 1938. Megow was famous for their line of ship kits. This is one of the more expensive kits as it contains a hardwood (not balsa) precarved hull, several metal fittings and metal launch, three printed balsa sheets, rigging material, blocks and two very rare jars of Megow Paint. Includes full size plans, with sectional outlines and assembly instructions, rigging diagrams, complete color scheme, colorful flag sheet and two photos of the completed model. Several parts were rough cut from two printed sheets, but there is no assembly on the model and it is complete with all parts, metal fittings, rigging material, two jars of Megow paint (it may have came with three originally), flag sheet and plans. The 'Seabird' was a typical merchant brig out of Philadelphia used in the Pacific Trade, dating back to the middle of the 19th century.
