Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM++

Very rare early Monogram kit from 1945. Investment grade condition inside and out. This is Monogram's second military ship kit in a series of five - a battleship, carrier, cruiser and landing craft. The kit features a carved balsa hull, color decals, printwood in two sizes, metal life rafts, cardstock and full size plans with complete instructions. I have seen this model built and it is a beautiful large-scale representation of the ship. Measures 16 inches long when built. The kit has never been started. The inside is like new and even includes the cardboard display space and original sandpaper. Complete with all parts, decals and instructions/plans.

Monogram Phantom Huey UH-1B Chopper Motorized with Sound, 1/24, 6867

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Rare. Dated 1969. Large and completely transparent with a 20 inch long fuselage and nearly 2 foot rotor diameter. Well detailed with 184 parts and full internal detail. Features full cockpit, pilot and co-pilot, complete cabin, opening cabin door, inner fuselage framing, detailed engine and more. The electric motor (in the display base with the batteries) turns main and tail rotors. Sound unit makes "chop-chop" sound that varies correctly with main rotor speed. To minimize painting, the kit is molded in clear, zinc chromate green, black, chrome plate, gray, olive drab and flexible silver (ammo belts). The clear fuselage halves have no breaks or cracks, they are mint. The motor, battery contacts and hardware are still in the factory sealed bag. The other parts were never in sealed bags and have been inventoried complete, including decals and instructions. These boxes were thin, fragile and easily damaged. This one is no exception. It does have four solid corners but the typical wear, etc as shown. NOTE: one pilot 1/2 has neatly broken legs, which are present. NOTE: this kit must be shipped insured.

UPC Marquis de Lafayette Coach / Carriage - (Green Sky) (ex-Miniature Masterpieces / ex-Revell / ex-Life-Like), 1/40, 4003-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Ex-Miniature Masterpieces (Adams), ex-Revell. From original molds. Like all Miniature Masterpieces kits, this one is very finely engraved and molded with excellent detail. In addition to the carriage, it includes horses, the General, his lady, driver and a display base. Molded in red. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions. This kit has a long history! 'Miniature Masterpieces' was formed through an alliance of Lou Glasser (Revell) and Steve Adams (Adams Action Models) in 1953. Although having the appearance of an independent company, the firm was run by Revell down to the prototypes being made at the Revell plant. However, there was no evidence of the parent company on the surface. The State Coach of England was the first kit, issued in 1953. More kits of excellent quality followed. Revell completely took over the line in 1954, making the one-year original issues very rare. After Revell no longer saw these as 'market viable' they molds were sold or leased to UPC. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufactures and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s. Eventually Life-Like ended up with the molds and reissued them. And from J. Boyle - The actual carriage still exists and is displayed at the Studebaker National museum in SouthBend, Indiana. It seems the Studebaker firm bought the carriage at the turn of the last century. When Studebaker quit building cars, it was donated to the City for eventual placement in a museum, along with many cars and other historic horse-drawn carriages collected by the firm.
