Excellent, very large scale kit. Fuselage is 67.25 inches long when built. Only "average sport-scale building skills are all you need to create this giant-scale favorite." The kit is conventional wood construction and features die cut parts pre-cut wood stock as required, plastic cowl, clear windows, metal parts as needed, opening right window for fuel tank access, plug in wing panels detach quickly for easy transportation, optional flaps and more. Can be run with a wide variety of motors and with a 4 to 6 channel radio with 5 to 8 servos (5 hi-torque). The kit has never been started. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the sealed bags. The parts that were not factory sealed have been inventoried complete including plans and very detailed and illustrated instructions. Will build a stock 1956 Chrysler New Yorker or a wild custom with 78 customizing accessories such as turtle fins, mirrors, spotlights, hood scoops, side stacks, 'shark' fender fins, continental extension kit, antennas, 8 disc and bumper bullets, fender skirts and more. Molded in high-gloss black with chrome and with the clear windshield material from Revell. Never started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This original kit can be told from the reproduction by 1. Hardbox instead of soft box, 2. Gloss plastic instead of flat to semi-gloss and 3, the original issue contains a MotorTrend chromed two-piece 'trophy' that says "MotorTrend - Revell Project IDEA." This part was removed from all reissues for licensing reasons.

Rare original issue from the 1950s - not the modern reissue. This large model has 155 parts and many action features. The kit of the six-wheel drive 5 ton Wrecker was designed straight from US Army Blueprints and data from the US Army Ordnance Corps. The kit incorporates nearly all the movable features of the actual equipment. The front wheels steer realistically, the hood opens to show the highly detailed engine, the windshield is collapsible and the doors of the cab can be opened and closed. The cab can be enclosed with a simulated canvas top. The rear train provides realistic suspension over irregular surfaces. The crane is completely operable and can hoist actual objects. The winch can be used realistically to pull other models. The jacks can be extended and lowered to support the truck. Additional sheave blocks are provided for hoisting and pulling operations. All four functions of the crane - lifting or lowering the shipper, extending or retracting the boom, winding or unwinding the hoist drum and swinging the boom to the left or right - can be realistically simulated. There has been no assembly. The parts that were factory sealed are still in the factory sealed clear bags. The parts that were never factory sealed have been inventoried complete and include decals and instructions.

1961 issue. Done in a big 1/16 scale, this kit and the other 'Old Timers' in the series represented a significant leap forward in quality for Aurora. The kit features full suspension, transaxle and driveline detail. It builds up a rolling chassis like the real car, and includes full exhaust and a detailed interior. Molded in gloss ivory, gloss black and with chrome plated parts and real rubber tires. The kit has never been started. Inside, it is exactly as it left the factory. The black and chrome parts are still in the factory sealed bags. The ivory and clear were never factory sealed and have been inventoried complete including the instructions. Aurora was renowned for turning a profit and for keeping expenses down. In researching new kit subjects, they came upon a forgotten jewel - the Hudson Miniatures line of 1/16 scale wooden kits. Hudson had discontinued this line due to lack of sales of wooden kits. But the Hudson models were second to none in quality, research and documentation. Aurora was quick to realize this and used the research and layout from these kits to create the subjects for this 'Old Timers' series. It is fortunate for us that they did, because in most cases this is the only injection molded kit of these rare and classic early automobiles.

First issue hardbox from 1958. Not the common 1996 reissue. Features full interior, molded underside detail, rolling wheels, separately molded side trim and the two figures shown on the box top. Molded in the correct high-gloss black, clear and chrome plate. Chrome plating is in 'near mint' condition. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions present. The box has a tape tear on the long lower side from the factory sealing tape. The 1956 Eldorado Brougham four door hardtop (suicide doors) started as a dream car in the GM Motorama and made it to the production floor as the luxury car with "the greatest number of important technological advances ever include din a custom built automobile". The styling was revolutionary at the time. The car sported a large and powerful V-8 engine and air suspension. The interior was simply stunning, with upholstery combinations such as cashmere, nylon and leather in any number of patterns and styles and plenty of chrome trim. In the rear seat, there was a retractable armrest which contained a storage compartment fitted with a vanity, tissue dispenser, cigarette case and a large mirror. All these items, including custom perfume, were designed just for this car. At a price tag of $13,000 few were made but they are valuable classics today.
