Revell Clipper Stag Hound - The Largest Merchant Ship of Her Day Master Modelers Club Issue, 1/216, H325-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

Sold

A rare kit in this condition. 1962 issue with framable box artwork by John Steel. The box is in exceptional 'excellent++' condition with like new color and gloss and four solid corners. Because it is the Master Modelers Club issue, it includes Stag Hound Master Modelers Stamp and two Air Power Series Trading Cards, the C-130 and B-25 'The Flying Dragon.' But the most amazing thing is that it still contains a brand-new, never opened tube of very colorful Revell 'S' cement that is still wrapped in the original factory padded cardboard. The glue is still good since the tube is fully flexible. The actual klit is very well detailed like all early Revell sailing ships. Features a full hull, detailed deck houses and all fittings, detailed masts and bowsprit, premolded ratlines, decals, color flags, rigging material and full rigging instructions. Molded in three colors. The model has not been started. It has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts and paperwork present. The Stag Hound was designed by the famous Donald McKay and was launched on December 7, 1850. She is famous for her great speed and turned a nice profit for her owners. The most notable event was when the Stag Hound was asked to take a copy of President Lincoln's inaugural address to London. During this run, she raced the steamer 'America' and won easily. Shortly after this she was lost off Brazil to a spontaneous combustion of her coal cargo. The crew successfully abandoned ship. The captain was the last to leave. He lowered the American Flag, wrapped it around himself and jumped overboard.

Revell British Canberra Bomber Whip-Fly, 1/81, H157-129

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

Rare kit from 1961. The fantastic artwork of an RAF Canberra flying over 'The Rock' was originally painted by Akimoto. The Whip-Fly issue is based on the 1950s B-57 "S" kit and comes with RAF decals, flight ballast, handle, 12 feet of control line, control ring, colorful streamers for the jet engines and a underside pod which is a in-flight whistle! Never started. Inventoried and includes all plastic parts, streamers, all flight equipment, instructions but NOTE: missing decals. The complete Whip-Fly series included are H151 F9F-8 Cougar, H152 F-84F, H153 F-89D Scorpion, H154 F8U-1 Crusader, H155 F-39 Airacobra, H156 F-101A Voodoo, Canberra, F-106 and Yak-25 Flashlight. The Whip-Fly series seemed like a good idea...at first. Revell quickly realized that spinning heavily-ballasted, sharp objects at dizzying speeds in or outside the home near groups of children was potentially unsafe. The series was quickly discontinued.

Lindberg Amphibious Duck - Cellovision Issue, 1/76, 757-49

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

Sold

A very rare kit from the late 1950s that has fantastic Ray Gaedke artwork of a beach landing scene. For some reason this kit almost never shows up and was issued only once or twice. Why is did not stay in the lineup is a mystery; perhaps the molds were damaged beyond repair. This is a fine model with very good detail and excellent scale appearance, which makes it's disappearance from the line-up even more confusing. The trading card on the back is in very good condition. NOTE: this kit has minor and 'professional' quality subassembly as noted: Two sides to the hull. There is no other assembly. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions present. I test fit all the other parts to the assembled hull & sides and all of them fit perfectly.
