The model is motorized and features over 100 moving parts. It is molded in clear, red, black and silver. When built, all major internal parts move via electric motor and spark plugs (red lights) flash in time. This kit has never been started. Aurora North American B-70 Valkyrie Bomber (XB-70A), 1/105, 370-250

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

Sold

First issue hardbox from 1962. This box has, in my opinion, some of the best Jack Leynnwood box art. Jack primarily did Revell artwork, but since he was freelance, he did others as well. At this point, the XB-70 was planned for production, so the kit is called the B-70 and the artwork shows a winter night-time quick turn around of a SAC B-70 while another Valkyrie roars overhead after takeoff. Very large kit with 6 detailed General Electric J93-3 engines, landing gear and clear canopy. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions.

Berkeley Super Cadet - For R/C or Free Flight, 1/12

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++

Big 1/12 scale model with a 35 inch wingspan. Originally designed as a gas powered model for free flight or control line, or can be converted to electric power and modern RC (radio control) gear. The parts are either in factory sealed bag(s) or inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. Berkeley is a very famous manufacturer of flying model kits from the Golden Age of flying aviation, about 1932-1954. Founded in 1933 by William Effinger, the company was quite progressive in producing quality kits - it was likely the Berkeley 'Buccaneer' was the first gas powered model in kit form. In the later 1930s, Effinger acquired the services of a very talented Henry Struck. Struck went on to design numerous award-winning kits under the Berkeley name. Berkeley weathered the post WWII recession and emerged as a major kit producer in the late 1940 and 1950s. These were great years for Berkeley and they produced some incredible and large kits. The company went bankrupt in about 1960 however. Fox engines (Duke Fox) bought the company and released the kits alongside his own FOX models and engines. This arrangement did not last, and in the early 1960s the Berkeley name disappeared from hobby shop shelves.

Revell Boeing B-52 Giant Stratofortress - Pre 'S' Kit 'Short' Box 1st Issue, 1/175, H207-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

Sold

First release dated 1954 in the low profile box (1" high vs. 1.5" high for later issues). Includes correct first issue globe stand with three parts instead of four. The instructions also show the three piece stand. This kit even has the factory-corrected decal sheet (see below). The box has factory-new color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape, tape marks, price tags or tag marks. The only flaw is very light general wear and a crease on the left that is so light it does not show up, even in this large photo. Never started. All small parts are still in the factory krinkle bag, and the kit is complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This is such an early issue that it has the earliest decal sheet which has an error. There is suppose to be a triangle on each side of the fuselage near the cockpit. The original sheet has just one of these - Revell had to issue a second decal sheet with the kit with another triangle on it. That extra decal sheet is present in this kit.
