This is the only 1/72 scale injection molded kit of the amazing Valkyrie bomber prototype that rode its own supersonic shock wave to incredible Mach 3+ speeds. Very large and well detailed model measures over 31 inches in length when assembled and features highly detailed cockpit and ejection seat escape system, landing gear and gear wells and YJ-93 turbojet engines with afterburners. Original issue dated 1969 and in remarkable, investment-grade 'Near Mint++' condition. The box has only a tiny bit more wear than when it came off the assembly line. This kit was originally designed as a gas powered flying model. However, Aurora discontinued the gas powered line very shortly after introduction due to returns and liability issues. Since the mold investment was already made, Aurora marketed these kits as large scale static models and they became know as "Screwdriver Kits" to collectors. For example, the 1/32 scale B-25 was issued in Gas U-Control and then static - but the P-51 may have only been issued in static. Molded in dark blue, light blue and clear & with many metal parts. Never started. The metal parts are still factory sealed in the original 'krinkle' bag. All other parts have been inventoried 100% complete. Includes decals in amazing, perfect 'Mint' condition and instructions in 'excellent' condition with yellowing as the only significant flaw. Even includes the original factory screwdriver with the clear yellow handle.

1967 Mattel logo issue that is a superb model for that time. It features a unique landing gear retraction and extension system that works well- when you pull the propeller outward and rotate it CCW, the landing gear retracts. Now rotate it CW, and the gear extends. Push the propeller in, and it freewheels as normal. Also features movable ailerons, rudder & elevators, detailed cockpit, sliding canopy and more. Includes colorful decals and instructions for rigging. The kit has never been started. Inventoried with all parts, decals and instructions present. From the late 1940s or early 1950s and includes the scale race car and trailer, which can be towed by any of the other RedyCut same-scale vehicles. Features all parts cut to shape, fully formed wheels, sandpaper and more. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes multi-view plans and exploded assembly diagram. RedYCut was well known for their wooden kits with a high degree of precise prefabrication. Rare 1950s issue with great Ray Gaedke artwork. The kit features external bomb load and centerline fuel tank, pilot with seat and display stand. NOTE: the box looks better than the 'Fair-' grade but is rated as such because the back panel has been cut through on one long an done short side and taped back on with clear tape - and a very heavy application of the tape. Rare large flying model and the 1970s reissue of the popular 1930s kit. Kit features traditional wood/tissue construction, quality printwood sheets, factory-cut stringers and spars, hardwood stock, metal stock, fulling formed and finished wheels, fully formed metal propeller shaft/rubber hook, canopy material, covering tissue and detailed full size plans with building instructions/notes. The model has not been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts and instructions. These aircraft were common in the 1930s when the sport of free-flight model airplanes reached it's zenith. It was not uncommon for these models to fly for 45 minutes or more on rubber power alone - many flew out of sight, and it became common practice to write your name, address and phone number on the covering tissue. Comet was a famous manufacturer of stick and tissue flying and static models. In the 1930s Great Depression, they lead the low-priced kit revolution with the "Dime Scale" kits and famous advertisements in Model Airplane News magazine and others. Comet reached it's peak in the 1930s when they acquired the services of Carl Goldberg. Goldberg was a highly accomplished modeler with articles in Model Airplane News and famous designs that won him several National level competitions in the 1930s and beyond. (Carl Goldberg went on to found his own company and produced well designed and popular free-flight and RC aircraft). Comet survived the post World War economic slump and continued kit production until they were bought out by long-time competitor Guillow's in 1998.

Still factory sealed. This is the 1995 reissue of the 1957 kit that uses the original box art and molds. This is an excellent model with finely molded detail and fit. Features retracting landing gear, rotating wheels and props, three man crew, optional position door and two survivors in life rafts. The Albatross was the primary sea rescue aircraft of the Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service, a branch of MAC - Military Airlift Command. Operational service began in 1947 and Hu-16s saw wartime action in Vietnam.
