Mach Dzik P52 Polish Navy (U-Class) Submarine, 1/400, 02

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$14

Dzik and here sister Solol and her sister were the first submarines delivered to the Polish Navy once WWII began. By February of 1941 Sokol was patrolling the Bay of Biscay and Dzik followed shortly after delivery on October 11, 1942. Both of these ships achieved significant success in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, where they destroyed several enemy ships. Both subs outlasted the war and were returned to England. Dzik was then lent to the Danish Navy in 1946. Her active service ended in 1957 and she was broken up in 1958. Very nicely molded and detailed but certainly not a 'state of the art' Tamiya style kit. Features full hull with propellers and rudder, display stand, color paint guide on the back of the box with rigging diagram and full decals with flags. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes decals and instructions.

Lindberg Nautilus Atomic Submarine, 1/300, 70884

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed NM

$22

Still factory sealed. Crafthouse reissue, from original molds. This kit has a fascinating history. In the 1930s, Paul Lindberg was designing, building and flying stick and tissue aircraft like so many other men and boys of the time. His plans appear in Popular Aviation magazine and he made a good name for himself. When injection molding showed the way to increased kits sales in the late 1940s/early 1950s, he quickly teamed up with Mr. Olsen to create 'O-lin' models. Ray Gaedke was one the early artists for O-lin. In the early 1950s Paul Lindberg had control and had his name as the logo. The first logo is the one on this kit - 'Lindberg' in script with 'Products' arched across the top and 'Incorporated' arched across the bottom to create a broken circle around the script. Ray Gaedke continued his bold and colorful artwork for Lindbergs first Nautilus issue. The Nautilus appears to be the first sea vessel that Lindberg cut thier own molds for - the Chris Craft Express Cruiser, PT Boat, LST and Fleet Submarine (Ex-Varney) were done by O-lin. The model is an interesting work of fact and fiction - it includes a deck gun and what looks like a Regulus II missile for the deck! The scale is about 1/300 and it measures about 12 inches long when assembled.
