First issue from 1957. This is the yellow-sided issue without the Parents' Magazine seal on the box art. Molded in gloss light gray and black. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. This is part of the famous Aurora WWI series of 1/48 scale aircraft. The series began in 1956 and Aurora added new kits into the early 1960s. The line proved incredibly popular, so some of these kits were included in the 'mold upgrade' in the 1970s before Aurora went out of business in '76.

Aurora Spad XIII World War I Fighter, 1/48, 107-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

Aurora Sopwith Camel, 1/48, 102-69

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$69

Just when I think all the issues have surfaced for an Aurora kit, another one shows up! This is a 120-69 (same number as the first issue) 'Famous Fighters' oval logo with the '69' price circle and the Parents' Magazine seal. That makes this the second issue - it would have been put out in early 1957, with the very first re-imaging to the new logo. It also shows that the Parents' seal was used as early as 1957 on some kits. The box artist on this issue is Jim Cox, the first model box artist for Aurora. (Please read the article about Mr. Cox on this website) This kit is part of a very successful WWI aircraft line in 1/48 scale that Aurora introduced in '56. The line sold so well that kits were added to it into the 1960s. Molded in the glossy olive drab green and black. This kit has never been started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.

Aurora De Haviland DH-10 Bomber, 1/48, 125-198

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc+

$125

Dated 1957 with classic Jo Kotula box art. This is the edition with the '198' price circle in the upper right and no Parent's Magazine approval seal. Box is in 'excellent+' condition with like new color and gloss, four solid corners and no tape or price tags. Flaws include very, very light wear and creasing. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Even includes the original tissue packing paper.

Revell F-102A Delta Dagger with 14 Ground Accessories - 'S' Issue, 1/48, H282-298

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$275

NOTE: builder only, please read carefully. Dated 1958. Very rare version of the large F-102 with all the ground equipment and crew shown on the front cover. Unique kit features landing gear and flaps the retract and extend when canopy is opened and closed, removable rear fuselage section and detailed jet engine, movable control surfaces, opening weapons bay with Falcon missiles and more. The F-102 is molded in silver and clear while the ground equipment is molded in bright yellow. The F-102 has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with all parts, 'excellent++' decals and instructions. NOTE: the ground equipment has minor assembly. Two parts have been glued to the big missile cart; quality of assembly is 'very good.' The tug tractor chassis had glue put on it but was never attached to the tractor body. There has been no other assembly and no painting. NOTE: missing the small decal sheet for the ground equipment and the ground equipment instructions are photocopies. As you can see, the box has like new color and gloss, four solid corners and displays better than the 'very good+' rating, but is graded as such because there are strips of 3/4 inch wide clear tape on the sides. This can be carefully removed by soaking in lighter fluid, but I only recommend this if you are experienced. Practice on lessor value kit boxes first! Please note that this kit must be shipped insured.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc++

$24

Still factory sealed. Some molds have a colorful history; this one is no exception. Hobby Craft also issued this kit in it's own box after Idea molded them. This kit even includes dark navy blue and black parts just like the original Monogram Four Star release. 'Working Action Model' with many features; wings fold, landing gear and tail wheel retract and all gear doors close, working arresting gear and rotating wheels and prop.
