Marx Chris Craft Constellation With Power Kit - 30 Inches Long, 1/20, 5707
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+,   old

One of the finest motor yacht kits ever made. From the late 1950s. Features very good detail and 225 parts. Measures approximately 30" long, 10" high and 8 inches wide when assembled. Can be made for radio control or as a highly detailed static model. Molded with cast metal accessories, metal and brass hardware and classic 1950s turquoise, brown, white, clear and peach colored and chrome plated plastic. Includes the captain, deck chairs and the two 'Bathing Beauties'. Even rarer than the kit itself is the included 'Marx Chris Craft Twin Electric Motor Power Kit' which is mint in the box. Inside it has two 'Mighty Monty' electric motors, battery holder, motor holders, wiring, switches, full instruction sheet and more. Both the Power Kit an and the model have been inventoried 100% complete with all parts. Has minor assembly: #1 small retainers, rudder post and prop shaft post have been installed and one bathing beauty has her bathing suit painted red. Quality of installation is very high. No other assembly. The flat hull glass windows have glue marks and smears; I have included them but also included plenty of thick plastic clear stock. You can easily duplicate these windows as they are simply flat clear parts. Just cut then bigger than the hull window openings and glue to the inside.

Lindberg is a company with a fascinating history The original 'Lindberg Line' stretches back to the 1930s when Paul Lindberg drew plans for famous modeling magazines and marketed his balsa wood 'stick and tissue' by urging dealers to carry the '...Complete Lindberg Line'. After the war, Lindberg and Olsen had a strong hand in early United States injection molded kit development. Please see the article located on this website about early USA plastic kit manufactures.

Italaerei Waco CG-4 Hadrian Assault Glider - USAAF Normandie / USAAF Sicily / RAF, 1/72, 118
Italaerei Waco CG-4 Hadrian Assault Glider - USAAF Normandie / USAAF Sicily / RAF, 1/72, 118
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG++,   old
$39

Same as the Testors kit as Italeri made the molds. Very nicely detailed kit with a very fine fabric texture, full cockpit, complete interior including troop benches, wheels and skids and two paratroopers. Has markings for all three aircraft. Never started. Factory sealed bag with decals and instructions. The Waco CG-4 was designed and initially built by Waco Aircraft Company of Troy, OH. It first saw action in Sicily and the operation was termed a disaster. This likely had more to do with planning than the actual glider. Missions in Europe, including D-Day, went much better. The glider was even deployed to Burma. It could carry up to 13 troops, or a jeep and four men, or a 75mm Field Gun.

Aurora P-40 Warhawk Flying Tiger - Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 44A-69
Aurora P-40 Warhawk Flying Tiger - Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 44A-69
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM+++,   old
$250

Most likely the third issue. From the mid-1950s. Box is in investment grade condition. This is the short-lived issue with the small square 'Aurora Line' logo, unique (to this issue) artwork and 'Famous Fighters of All Nations' logo. Glue for plastic kits was not available in stores early on, so Aurora often included a small but colorful tube of Aurora Cement with the kits. This kit still has that sealed tube in mint condition. Molded in gloss olive drab and clear with one piece wings. Has original rectangular clear stand. Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
Aurora Messerschmitt Me-109 (Bf-109) - Blue Box Ends- Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 55A-69
Aurora Messerschmitt Me-109 (Bf-109) - Blue Box Ends- Famous Fighters of All Nations, 1/48, 55A-69
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM-,   old
$325

I believe this is the 4th edition of this kit, and the first issue with this Jim Cox boxart. Dates from the mid 1956 with small 'Aurora Line' rectangular logo and 'Famous Fighters of All Nations'. It is interesting that this issue did not carry the standard Aurora 'Northern Lights' logo for 1956 - perhaps it was designed at the end of 1955 and simply left that way. Correctly molded in metallic burgundy and clear with the correct rectangular clear stand. For this issue the factory changed the swastikas on the tail to iron crosses and decals as well. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions.
Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-259
Aurora Boeing B-29 Superfortress, 1/76, 372-259
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: NM,   old
$375

Rare 1956 issue with the square 'Northern Lights' logo and arguably the most dramatic and fanciful B-29 artwork from the "Golden Era" of modeling. This is the second issue of this kit. The box is in exceptional condition with brilliant colors and gloss. There are no split corner and no repairs. Light edge wear as the only flaw. Responding to market sources that boys wanted larger kits, Aurora introduced the B-26 followed by the B-29 and B-25, all of which sold well for many years. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with very high gloss silver parts, correct large 'Globe' two piece clear stand and correct decal sheet, mint condition instructions and even the original packing tissue paper.
Heller Pamir, 1/150, 80804
Heller Pamir, 1/150, 80804
Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+++,   old
$250

Still sealed. Very large and highly detailed kit with 738 parts. Measures 75cm (~30 inches) in length and 40cm (~16 inches) high when assembled. Full hull kit includes display stand, fantastic deck and fittings detail, railings, detailed masts with separate yards, billowing vac sails, full rigging supplies, numerous rigging diagrams and pin diagrams and full building instructions. The Pamir was bulit in 1905 at Blohm & Voss shipyards to become the 51st ship in the fleet of R.F. Laeisz of Hamberg ("The Flying P Line" was a reference to the starting letter of most of the ships names and the numerous records that they held). She was a four masted barque of 4425 tons with a crew of 33. She saw extensive trade service between the wars and served in both World Wars. After WWI she was given away as compensation; however her original owner bought her back in the 1920s. Before WWI she was sold to a Finnish cereal shipping fleet. Her beauty saved her from torpedoes from a Japanese Submarine - the Commander simply could not sink so wonderful a ship. In her 40th year of existence, the Pamir was bought with the Passat by a Dutch demolition crew. Yet at the last moment the West German merchant marine bought both ships to train cadets in the 1950s. The Pamir was lost in an Atlantic storm in 1957.
