In spite of the scarcity of raw materials, the ship was floated and ready for it's first trials on February 26, 1948. He set the sails for his epic journey on September 19, 1948 at 4 pm. On July 7, 1952, after 45 months sailing, the battle-scared Kuran arrived at the harbor of Le Croisic after circumnavigating the globe.

Dated 1975. One of Revell's finest early ships. It is from the original 'S' kits molds, which are a tribute to the research and skill of the mold maker. Beautiful full-hull model features finely engraved planking and plate detail, rotating main turrets and elevating guns, full secondary armament of 5", 1.1" and ten 5" casemate guns, complete deck fittings with searchlights, motor launches and whaleboats, range finders, ladders, cranes, masts and observations nests, two catapults with Vought O2U Biplanes, display stand and flags and decals for the ship and float planes. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals, flags and instructions. You can turn this into an amazing model with the PE detail sets from Gold Medal Models.

$12

Nice quality kit from original Casadio molds. Features separately molded main and secondary battery turrets, catapults and aircraft, two helicopters, life boats and full-hull length camo decals. There is no other assembly and zero painting. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. MPC did a very nice job marketing these kits - the box sides contain interesting ship history, and the instructions include specifications and a large, fold-out illustrated engagement map with battle details.

Features the correct 1st issue instructions showing the early stand, large rectangular-based stand and decal sheet correctly lacking the stand decal.

Pyro Gulf Star Tuna Clipper, 1/58, B374-400

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$55

Mid 1960s hardbox issue. Modeled from the two Tuna Clippers (sister ship is Sea Magic) of the Avondale Marine Ways Company of New Orleans. These hard-working boats and crews roamed the ocean year-around in a dangerous business. Many vanished without a trace. The Gulf Star was wreaked on a reef off Peru. Model has a hull length of 13.5 inches. Very nicely detailed kit for that time. Even includes rigging material and rigging instructions. NOTE: kit has minor and neat assembly; hull halves are assembled. Quality of assembly is 'professional' (no gaps, no glue on the outside portion and great alignment).
