Guano Aeroplane Ikarus IK-2, 1/72

Resin Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$52

Rare. The IK-2 is the father of the fantastic IK-3. Both are of Yugoslav design and manufacture. IK2 and 3 saw service in WWII; IK-2s attacked German columns and IK-3s defended Beograd from the air. IK-2 was a superior design in that day. In mock dogfights in 1936, it out performed the Hawker Fury in a respects. The aircraft was all metal and heavily armed with two 20 mm cannon and two 7.92 mm machine guns. The kit features main airframe parts cast in high-definition resin with very fine panel detail, resin horizontal stabilizers and radiator, injection molded wheels pants, wheel hubs, tires and prop, resin pilot bust, clear vac windshield and many pages of instructions and drawings. Never started and inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and paperwork. Guano kits were designed and molded by Wesley Moore in Renton, Washington. From what I can tell, most if not all were marketed directly through him. This kit was sent directly from his home in a eraser box to the customer.

Frog Lockheed Ventura PV-1 Bomber/Reconnaissance, 1/72, F240

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$450

Very rare. Near the end, Frog had projected several future kits. In the case of the Ventura, the kit was never released but the molds were made. Around 40,000 boxes were made anticipating production. Most of the boxes were destroyed. A unknown number of decals sheets were produced. There are no instruction sheets reported. The mold was put in the machine and 100 test shots were run - the only Ventura run at Frog. The 100 test shots were not sold but some found their way into collectors hands. This example is in a 'very good+' box with four solid corners and light general wear. It contains the decals and all parts. It is molded in gloss dark blue and clear, which is correct for the test shots. The kit has never been started and is complete. Please note there are no instructions as none were ever made. Shipping insurance is required for this kit.

TMY WACO Biplane 29.5 Inch Gas Model Airplane

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$275

Very rare. This is an early Japanese export kit from TMY in Tokyo, probably dating right around 1960. It was clearly intended for control line operation. The kit has a very high degree of prefabrication for that time, featuring fully cut and ready to assemble plywood fuselage bulkheads, fully cut balsa wing rigs, cut out (but final sanding required) wheels pants, tail planes and all other wood parts, strip wood, formed wire main gear strut, balloon-type main wheels and solid tail wheel, an extensive (still sealed) hardware packet, wood for sheeting, silk covering material (still sealed) and full size plans. The kit has never been started. The internal condition is exceptional; many parts are still attached to the orange factory display board with string; even more are still wrapped with the factory green tape. The kit has been inventoried complete with all parts and plans. It must be shipped insured.

Airframe Arado Ar-231 - Bagged, 1/72

Vacuform Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG

$9

Still factory sealed. The Arado 231 was designed as a small submarine borne spotter aircraft and was first flown in 1941. It could be dismantled in six minutes and stored in a tube with a diameter of 6.56 feet. The aircraft was not considered successful and only six machines were completed. Basic vacuform kit; not recommended for modelers who have not built vac kits. Scratch building experience and a large spares box is necessary.

Features three different noses and cockpit configurations so you can build one of three versions, full cockpit, detailed gear wells and landing gear and markings for three different aircraft. Includes main cast-resin parts with fine recessed panel lines, many precision cast metal details, two clear vacuform canopies in as-new condition, extensive decals and detailed instructions. The kit has not been started. Inventoried complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Recommended only for experienced modelers who have previously built multi-media kits. Must be shipped insured.

Aurora Martin B-26 Marauder, 1/46, 371-259

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+++

$395

Very rare first issue from the early 1950s. When Aurora moved to the West Hempstead plant, they planned a series of very large scale bombers. All kits released up to this time had been small. Aurora's instincts were correct, and the B-26, B-25 and B-29 were a big sales success. This box art was done by Jim Cox and was only used for about one year, making it very rare. The kit has never been started and is inventoried 100% complete with the original tissue paper, all parts, large clear stand, instructions and decals.

Minicraft 1804 Trevithick The World's First Steam Locomotive, 1/38, 11102

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$65

From ex-Entex molds. The world's first locomotive was the 1804 Trevithick. On February 13 of that year, Richard Trevithick's high pressure steam locomotive pulled five wagons carrying 10 tons of iron and 70 men on the Penydaren Tramroad from Methyr to Abercynon, Wales. The nine miles was covered in four hours and five minutes but much time was lost cutting down several trees and removing some large rocks. At times they reached the unheard of speed of five miles per hour! The performance won a 500 Pound wager for the train's owner, Mr. Samuel Homfrey and proved for once and for all that smooth steel wheels could obtain traction on a smooth iron rail. Until this day, conventional wisdom insisted that only geared wheels running on geared track would be able to pull any load up the slightest grade. The model is from 1996 but the molds pre-date that. Older but very nice kit that is well detail and molded in wood brown, medium gray and black. Includes display stand. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions.
