MPC The Christie American Steam Fire Engine, 1/12, 1-2002

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Mint

$175

Still factory sealed. The Christie was the backbone of the American fire-fighting force prior to World War 1 - she was in service in just about every major city. Walter Christie, the designer, was a noted race car driver and the father of front wheel drive technology. This fire engine is actually a development of his turn of the century horse drawn steam pumpers. This model was developed from a fully restored Christie redone by Community Fire company No.1 of Wayne, NJ. This is a highly detailed model which is 1/12 scale and is over 19 inches long when assembled. Features display stand, moldings in red, black, grey and clear, brass and nickel plated parts, decals for all stripes and letting, over 330 parts, decals and full instructions.

Continental Model Airplane Co Curtiss Hawk 75 - Balsa Wood Flying Airplane, X9

Wood Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$30

From the mid to late 1930s. New old stock from a closed down hobby shop. Because they are in 'new' condition, the end flaps and tabs are in great condition with no tears or rips. I was the first one to open them and did so very carefully to avoid all damage. Features 15 inch wingspan, quality balsa printwood and wood stock, fully carved hardwood wheels, partially carved prop blank (needs sanding), balsa blocks as required, covering tissue and detailed, full size plans that include instructions. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes instructions.

Frog Fokker D-21 (DXXI) - With Dutch Markings, 1/72, F223

Rotating prop and wheels, with separate ailerons, elevators and rudder that can be fixed in any position you wish. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. The D-21 was a good but outdated Dutch Fighter from WWII. It saw some initial success during the German invasion of the Low Countries, but was overwhelmed by the Luftwaffe.

Arii Mitsubishi Ki-67 Peggy, 1/72, 2

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Sealed Exc+

$24

Still factory sealed. True mold origins are not known, but probably from LS.

Aurora Piper Apache, 1/64, 280-39

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc++

$125

1963 issue and still the only injection molded Apache kit. From ex-Comet molds. Features all recessed panel lines, clear windows, rotating propellers and color decals. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Aurora had started a line of inexpensive 29 cent kits in about 1957. The line was a success, and it was expanded. The line grew again when Aurora purchased the Comet molds, as most of Comet's line was very small scale kits, many of them civil aircraft like this one. It appears that Aurora was encouraged by the sale of the ex-Comet civil aircraft, as it expanded the line with it's own molds in the early 1960s.

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: VG+

$26

Very finely molded in silver. Features separately molded ailerons, elevators and rudder. The kit has never been started. It has been inventoried complete with all parts and includes decals and instructions. Air Lines kits are all Frog molds that the Lines Brothers imported to the USA between 1964-1966. The kits, decals and instructions were made in England, then imported to the USA where Testors created the boxes with the colorful trading cards on the back. There are one or two trading cards on each box which show the boxart but not the advertising/logo. Some kits contain a Testors color painting guide also, but it is not specific to any model.

KMT Dart and Little John Missiles, M12-98

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good-

$285

In the late 1950s KMT released several large scale missile kits, all of which are rare today. This one is the Little John in 1/20 scale and the Dart in 1/12 scale. Strombecker Temco TT-1 Navy Primary Trainer, 1/48, D36-100

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$79

Rare kit in good condition. The notoriously thin Strombecker box was preserved with very good color and four solid corners. This model was unique in that a customer could lift the hinged, full-color 'Pin-Up' artwork to view the kit inside. The kit was (originally) sealed with a clear cellophane panel glued to the inside of the box lid. The inner cellophane is intact. Nicely molded kit with recessed panel lines and very complete decals. Features crew, ejection seats, instrument side and main panel detail, opening canopy and optional position landing gear. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. Strombecker was most famous for making the finest in wooden kits. During the short time that they made wooden kits, they released many interesting subjects that are desirable today.

Hawk F4D Skyray Triangle Box, 1/72, 402

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Good+

$135

Rare Triangle Box issue from about 1957/58. As a marketing experiment, Hawk tried this novel and colorful box only with the Skyray. Dealers found it difficult to stack with other kits and it was discontinued. Molded in correct gloss white with a green-tinted clear canopy and brown pilot. Never started. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. This box rates as 'good.' It is completely solid and free of repairs but has general wear and left upper corner damage as shown. Luckily, it is missing the factory tape seals that are usually across the top corners.

Farpro Aichi E16A Zuiun (Paul) - Motorized, 1/72, 106

Plastic Model Kit,   Box Condition: Exc

$20

From older Japanese molds. This was designed to be motorized and contains the required hardware minus the motor, which the kit manufacture almost never furnished. Nicely molded older kit. Features nicely done raised details, choice of two different canopies, working flaps and moving ailerons, display stand, folding wings, crew members and battery remote control for the motorized prop. The kit has never been started. The parts are still in the internal factory sealed bags and includes instructions. NOTE: Missing decals. Farpo existed for a short time in the late 1960s. All the kits were all made in Japan by Aoshima but specifically for US distribution. Some kits had provision for motorization and some did not.
