From high quality Frog molds. Very large and well detailed model. The box top has clear tape on it. The kit has never been started. Internal factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete including decals and instructions. UPC stood for Universal Powermaster Corporation which was based out of New York City, NY. UPC did not cut their own molds, but bought kits already molded from other manufacturers and re-boxed the kits in the USA. Scott Eidson, the famous artist best known for his artwork with Revell, also did UPC box art in the 1960s. All UPC production ended in the 1970s.

Airfix Boeing 314 Pan Am Clipper - 'Dixie' or BOAC 'Berwick', 1/144, 1415-100

Craftmaster issue. Very nicely molded kit. Builds to a realistic model. Has decals for both aircraft. NOTE: one propeller has been painted black. There has been no other painting and no assembly. Inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. In the 1930s Pan Am was a household word in the USA for their romantic foreign routes and the glamorous 'China Clippers' that crossed the Pacific Ocean, stopping at such ports as Wake Island. Pan Am's attention soon turned to the Atlantic. Since non-stop service would be needed, a new aircraft was designed. The Boeing 314 was chosen. This huge flying boat started flying the Atlantic mail in 1939 with a trip over 26 hours long. Before the war, the 314 fleet flew the Pacific, Atlantic and other routes. The airliner was a palace compared to the cramped jets and limited service of today. The flight deck compared to the bridge of a ship and housed 6 crew. It was connected to the passenger cabin by a spiral staircase. The luxurious cabins were divided into 5 standard compartments, each seating 10 passengers, a dining salon for 14, a special compartment for four and a deluxe bridal suite. 74 could be carried on day trips and 40 when sleeping quarters for all passengers was required. Chefs prepared gourmet meals while passengers lounged in deeply cushioned wicker chairs and enjoyed a grand view of the scenery from about 5,000 feet. The age of the Clippers ended shortly after WWII when land planes could operate at much higher speeds than the flying boats.

Nice 1973 1/144 Tri-Jet kit. McDonnell-Douglas and Lockheed both produced tri-jets for an over-estimated market, which lead to neither design being very financially successful. This kit comes with Western decals in excellent condition. (Please see the two articles on this site about using older decals.) Never started. Factory sealed bag or inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. NOTE: box top is missing both short ends.

Highly detailed kit with many working features. Has complete interior, opening bomb bay doors, full bomb bay detail and weapons load, moving control surfaces and optional position landing gear. This kit has never been started. It is either still in the internally sealed factory bag or has been inventoried 100% complete with all parts, decals and instructions. The box is water damaged but the parts inside are mint. The decals and intact but have a small area that shows very light water damage. In the 1970s, MPC released the very popular Profile Series. Inside each box was a quality Airfix kit but with MPC decals to build any of the three aircraft shown on the box top.

One feature of this line was some fantastic box art by Cal Smith. This kit contains vacuform plastic parts (26 total) and has a wingspan of 14 inches. Power is by rubber band motor with a plastic prop. The kit has not been started and is complete. Includes all plastic/metal parts, full decals and complete instructions.

For the advanced collector. This is Monogram's first car kit, number R1 and made in 1946. The box is in exceptional condition, as is the kit inside. The Hot Shot Jet racer kit consists of a pre-carved balsa wood body with the grill design completely pre-cut, a sheet of printed wood parts, four rubber tires, a vacuform clear canopy (that has not turned yellow), metal axles, color decals and full size plans/instructions including details on how to power the car with a CO2 jet engine. Rare. Strombecker was most famous for making the finest in wooden kits. During the short time that they made wooden kits, they released many interesting subjects that are desirable today.
