During the golden era of realistic train models, La Belle Woodworking Company created perhaps the very finest scale kits of early American passenger equipment. The kit features die cut hardwood parts (no balsa) such as pre-cut and scribed sides with all windows and doors factory cut, car ends done in the same fashion, carved clerestory roof, tinted clear clerestory window material, excellent underside details & other metal details, building instructions and full size plans. I have seen these models built and they look identical to the real prototypes. The kit has not been started. Inventoried complete with all parts and includes plans and instructions. Typical high quality Frog kit with no rivets and fine panel lines for a realistic model. Features steering nose strut, four anti-ship missiles on wing pylons, optional position landing gear, unique rotating bomb bay, folding wings and working arresting hook. Has decals for both Air Forces, No.12 Sq RAF Honington, 1970 and No. 24 Sq SAAF Waterkfloof, 1970. NOTE: this kit has "professional" quality sub assembly as follows: cockpit tub; missile halves; nose and tail cone halves; wing and rudder halves and main gear doors glued in the 'closed' position. There is no other assembly. The actual aircraft has been inventoried complete including decals and instructions. NOTE: missing display stand. The Buccaneer was the world's first purpose designed low level 'below the radar' bomber. Low level strike aircraft have a shorter airframe life limit due to the stresses of low level flying, so the Buccaneer was designed to be very strong and even had many sub-assemblies milled from solid metal.
